“A Message from Mike, K7IR
This is our first email newsletter. From the time we started the company 17 years ago, we’ve interacted with thousands of hams, mostly by phone or in-person. You’re receiving this message because you’re a SteppIR customer, or have indicated an interest in our antenna products.
New Products in 2017
In 2017, we’ll be introducing some new products, and who better to hear about them first than you. I can tell you about one of the products right now: A new beam antenna.
The new beam antenna is a design that I’ve been working on in one form or another for over five years. It satisfies the need for a compact, lightweight design for 40 meters to 6 meters that provides great performance. An unexpected advantage is that it’s unconventional shape means that it’s sometimes not even recognized as an antenna!
Here’s a picture of one of the pre-production prototypes. Coming in under 45 pounds with two elements and a turning radius of 15 feet 5 inches, there’s a lot to like for use on DXpeditions, as well as where a conventional tower is not possible.
We’ll have one of the new antennas connected to the special event station at the DX Convention in Visalia, California April 21-23.
Thank you for being a SteppIR customer or supporter!
