BANGOR TOWNSHIP, MI — Commemoration of those who gave their lives during the Dec. 7, 1941, attack on Pearl Harbor is to be conducted at noon Monday alongside the USS Edson, a Vietnam-era destroyer now serving as a museum docked in the Saginaw River in Bay County’s Bangor Township.
At the same time, local amateur radio operators forming the new USS Edson Radio Club are to broadcast messages worldwide describing the event.
Mike Kegley, organizer of the memorial ceremony, said there is to be a brief ceremony honoring those Americans who died in an action that led the United States into World War II. He said speakers are being lined up to comment on the importance of the day in American history...READ MORE
