“Our Vision for Every Child, Life in All its Splendor – Our Prayers for Every Heart and Soul Over a period of several years, Santa Claus has appeared on Amateur Radio bands to bring cheer to the whole world, adults and children alike, with the thrill of activating Santa Claus Land (SCL) and even talking directly to kids of all ages all over the world in the spirit of Christmas. The year 2014 will be no different and you can contact Santa at OH9SCL in the capital of Lapland, the city of Rovaniemi and view and talk to OF9X, Santa’s communication arm from Finland, the territorial Radio Station of Santa Claus. The event is organized by the folks at Radio Arcala, OH8X.
But this Christmas, Santa goes beyond his normal activities and welcomes you and your children to join him on his special mission in the spirit of World Vision www.worldvision.org. This is to bring Christmas also to needy children. (Instructions will soon follow)
Your gift is welcome as such but it can also be attached to your QSL request for an OF9X card through via OQRS. Contacting both OH9SCL and OF9X this Christmas will earn you a slick Santa World Vision Award at no cost following your email request to of9x@sral.fi.
This activity is supported by the Amateur Radio groups of Rovaniemi, OH9AB, JKR Club, OH3I and the Elisa Radio Club of OH2AQ/OH9W now newly registered in the wastelands of Pusula, along with Radio Arcala, OH8X.
The activity starts on Friday, December 19 and ends on the last day of the year, December 31.
As Santa is busy on his world tour, OH9SCL will be more active before and after Christmas while OF9X is scheduled to be on for the entire period. OF9X will always know the whereabouts of the white bearded Oh Ho 9 figure.
