A bankruptcy judge approved a plan Tuesday that would keep about 1,700 RadioShack stores open, but the battle isn’t over for the old-fashioned electronics retailer.
The ruling by Judge Brendan Shannon in Wilmington, Del., allows RadioShack to sell 1,740 stores to the New York hedge fund Standard General, which first acquired a stake in RadioShack last year.
The plan will save 7,500 of 27,000 jobs as the company goes into bankruptcy. Most stores across the country have had going-out-of-business sales for weeks
