IC-705 – ICOM
On August 31, 2019, ICOM Co., Ltd. held a portable HF / 50/144 / 430MHz band all-mode (SSB / CW / RTTY / AM / FM / D-STA R DV) at its booth at Ham Fair 2019 Announced “IC-705”. The size is approximately 200W x 80H x 85Dmm, and a 1kg weight body is equipped with a 4.3-inch large color display equivalent to IC-7300 / 9700. The lithium ion battery (BP-272) used in the company’s handy machine can be mounted on the back to operate QRP up to 5W (10W operation is possible when using an external power supply). Built-in GPS receiver and compatible with DV mode of D-STAR. The price is undecided, but it says “Aiming to launch by March 2020”.
Icom’s portable machine with a battery in its body is the first in 37 years since the 6-meter IC-505, which appeared in 1982. This is the first portable device compatible with AM mode in 48 years since 1971 AM-3D. Based on what the company announced at the Ham Fair 2019 venue, we will introduce the features of this IC-705.
HF + 50MHz + 144MHz + 430MHz
field operation new partner “IC-705” birth
<Features>
◆ Cover HF + 50MHz + 144MHz + 430MHz in all
modes From HF to 50/144 / 430MHz, you can enjoy a variety of bands in SSB / CW / RTTY / AM / FM in DV mode of D-STAR. Reception is continuously covered from 30kHz to 144MHz band. You can enjoy FM broadcast and air band reception.
◆ Adopting RF direct sampling method Adopts RF direct sampling method which
Icom is good at. The generation of noise and distortion has been greatly reduced, and extremely excellent phase noise characteristics have been achieved. In addition, the Real Yum Spectrum Scope and War Yu Fall, which boasts high speed and high resolution for the first time in its class, has been realized. * Down conversion IF sampling method for 25MHz and above
◆ Real-time spectrum scope and waterfall display realized
The performance and functions of the highly acclaimed IC-7300 and IC-9700 scopes are inherited. Visually figure out the band conditions, check available frequencies, and enable advanced operations that go beyond conventional field operations.
◆ Equipped with a large color display for touch operation A large color display of the
same size (4.3 inches) as IC-7300 and IC-9700 is used. Of course, touch operation is also supported. Visibility and operability in the field are dramatically improved.
Performance and functions approaching a lightweight and compact body fixing machine are contained in a compact size with a width of about 20cm, a height of about 8cm, and a depth of about 8.5cm. Weight is about 1kg (including rechargeable battery BP-272, excluding antenna). We realize size and lightness that we can hold with one hand. * Numerical values are subject to change.
The maximum transmission deca-10W (when the external power supply 13.8V) / 5W (at the time included rechargeable battery use) QRP, also corresponds to the operation in QRPp
yet portable machine, the maximum deca 10W (when the external power supply 13.8V) Realization. When the included lithium-ion battery BP-272 (7.4V 2000mAh) is installed, operation with a maximum output of 5W is possible. QRP (5W) as well as QRPp (0.5W) are supported.
◆ Supports Bluetooth / wireless LAN connections
Cooperation with smartphones, remote control, and even Bluetooth compatible headsets are possible.
◆ It is equipped with GPS antenna, GPS mouth garner It is equipped with
high-performance GPS antenna. In D-STAR DV mode, you can send and receive location information while communicating. This high-performance GPS realizes a variety of functions such as GPS log function and automatic list-up function of the nearest repeater.
Equipped with a microSD card slot Equipped with a microSD card slot that can be used for firmware upgrades, cloning, etc., as well as recording voice recordings and GPS data.
◆ Fully equipped
with D-STAR functions Fully equipped with functions to enjoy D-STAR comfortably, such as DR function, terminal mode / access point mode. In addition, you can send and receive and view saved photos using just the IC-705.
◆ Whip antenna and speaker microphone
compatible with V / UHF are included . Whip antenna and speaker microphone compatible with V / UHF are included. The speaker microphone is equipped with customizable buttons that can be assigned with various functions such as frequency and volume.
◆ Multi-bag LC-192, which is ideal for mobile and field operation.
Not only can the IC-705 be stored neatly, but also a multi-pack LC- with various functions such as mounting antennas and halls for coaxial and microphone cables. 192 (optional). The IC-705 can be operated with it in the bag.
