WRC 2015 When drafting this issue, the World Radio Conference 2015 had concluded his work. During 4 weeks more than 3000 participants attended this conference.
The IARU was present as observer with a team to represent the interests of amateur radio, as well as volunteers embedded in some national delegations.
This conference resulted in a new Band on HF (5351.5 – 5366.5 kHz). Regarding VHF we succeeded in including a future agenda item for the next conference, in 2019, which will consider harmonizing the 50MHz band in Region 1 (see later for a copy of the resolution). However other new WRC-19 agenda items may threaten other bands, including 5GHz and 47 GHz. If you want to know more about it; you can find the final press release here: http://www.itu.int/net/pressoffice/press_releases/2015/56.aspx#.Vl1wjGaFOM8
