The HRD Team is happy to announce the release of Version 6.3 this week. HRD 6.3 integrates nicely with Windows Vista through Windows 10; includes support of the IC 7100 and 7600 V2 Firmware; offers New Terminal features with support for the Timewave PK232 data controller and other TNCs; additional awards and fixes, and addresses bug fixes for the remote access server. Owner Rick Ruhl, W4PC said, “This is one of our best releases to date. The software is solid, customers are happy and we are thrilled.”
Attendees at the Huntsville Hamfest this weekend are invited to stop by the HRD booth located across from the main entrance to South Hall. Staffing the booth this weekend are HRD owner Rick Ruhl, W4PC and technical support specialist Katie Allen, WY7YL who will be there to answer questions and provide product demonstrations. On Sunday at 10:00AM, visit with Rick in Room 1 for the Ham Radio Deluxe Forum. On a technical side related to HRD and Microsoft Windows security issue changes, HRD owner Mike Carper, WA9PIE said “With Windows 10, Microsoft is taking steps to further harden the security of all supported operating systems. In order to remain compliant; eliminate security related errors; and protect the software from future changes; we put a lot of work into making sure that HRD fits the Windows Security Model. This will resolve issues with remote server, database connections, and a number of various other problems.” Carper went on to say, “This release now supports unique HRD profiles for each Windows user. This enables members of a ham household to have unique logs, awards tracking, macros, and layouts for all individual Windows users on a given computer.”
For those of you that aren’t traveling this weekend to Huntsville, you can still enjoy the show discount this weekend with Coupon Code huntsville (all lowercase). Additionally, because the staff will be traveling for the hamfest and our UK support team member will be attending another ham radio event, our support team will be down to one member. Therefore, Friday’s hours will be 10am-4pm EST. Please be patient as we will do our best to respond to your issues in a timely manner with minimal staffing.
