DATE June 06-07. 2020.
STARTS 10.00 UTC SATURDAY ENDS 0959 UTC SUNDAY
For amateur radio operators worldwide, social distancing is not an issue. Our ham radio network of radio-wave signals flies high and wide, across all borders near and far. Amateur radio operators are well-known for their communication skills during the happy days, but also during times of crisis.
Even if ham radio operators are confined to their homes, they are encouraged to communicate, enhance their friendships and keep their minds and skills sharp for global messaging whenever needed.
OBJECTIVE:
To bring this global group of some 3 million radio amateurs together, have them greet each other and enhance their sense of global belonging. As the volume of such gatherings is normally very large, they will keep their messages short in order to maximize the number of contacts across the largest possible number of countries. The format is same used in their competitive events and the best efforts are also recognized with an appropriate award program.
The Finnish Amateur radio League, (SRAL) in cooperation with Araucaria DX Group (ADXG) of Brazil and Radio Arcala, OH8X of Finland invite you cordially to join them to a global special event featuring their STAYHOME movement and its radio activity as follows;
BANDS:
80, 40, 20, 15, 10 meter bands.
MODES:
CW, SSB, DIGITAL (FT4/FT8 only)
STATION CATEGORIES:
Only 1 operator per station is allowed
1) STAYHOME stations. The suffix must be STAYHOME.
A suffix such as STAY, HOME, or STAYHOM is accepted + 5WSTAYSAFE from Samoa
in case STAYHOME cannot be issued by the telecom authorities.
2) NON-STAYHOME STATIONS : All other stations with their regular call indicator.
OPERATOR CATEGORIES:
- Single operator, both in STAYHOME and NON-STAYHOME categories.
A: Single mode CW, SSB or Digital
B: Multi mode CW/SSB/Digital
2) Team category, of up to 3 same STAYHOME stations on three modes using the same call sign
at the same time on different modes.
EXCHANGE: 59(9) and the AGE (years) of the operator. Ladies can use 00.
If you do not want to tell your age, please use 99.
QSO-MAKING ASSISTANCE: DX-Cluster and Reverse Beacon Network are permitted.
Self-spotting is not allowed. Remotely operated stations are allowed.
Using Websdr as an aid to complete a QSO is not allowed.
SCORING:
1) STAYHOME STATIONS: The total number of valid contacts.
2) NON-STAYHOME STATIONS: Each valid QSO gives 1 point.
Stations can be worked once on each mode and band = max 15 QSOs.
There are two types of multipliers:
- a) Number of DXCC countries worked, regardless of band and mode.
- b) Number of different STAYHOME callsigns worked, regardless of mode and band.
LOG INSTRUCTIONS:
Date, UTC time, band, sent and received messages are needed.
The log should show the operator’s age in the sent and received
messages, e.g. 599 73.
*) Logs received without received number count as support log.
LOGGING SOFTWARE: The only contest using age is the All Asian Contest, AA,
which can also be used here. AA in Win-test accepts both modes (CW/SSB )
FT8 generated ADIF files are acceptable.
You may use any other software where age can be included in the messages.
For example, CQ WW DX Contest format can be used, replacing the zone
number by age. PSE forget about the scoring (see below). Submitted logs for
three modes can be separate.
The serial number, used in many contests, could be replaced by age.
If your program adds a leading zero to your age, that is OK.
Please check that the message, age, you transmit, also appears in the log.
If not, add your age in the Soapbox of the log.
SCORE CALCULATION:
Since none of the existing software can score the logs,
leave it up to the organizers to do this.
SUBMISSION OF LOGS: Cabrillo is preferred but ADI files are also accepted. Send your
log to covidlog@sral.fi
Log deadline is 7 days after the end of the contest.
THE AWARDS:
The STAYHOME stations (all operators) making more than 1000 QSOs will receive an online certificate.
The top 30 scorers (multi-mode) plus 5 best of (single mode) plus 3 best of each continent will receive an online certificate. Same group will participate the grand prize lottery.
THE GARND PRIZE IS xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
