“Hi All,
I’m excited to let you know that Amateur Contact Log 6.2 and new versions of all my contest software are now available!
These enhancements apply to Amateur Contact Log specifically:
Automatic Upload to LoTW on Entry
From the menu options click eLogs > LoTW and click Enable Real Time Upload at the left (at the bottom of the Upload section). You won’t see any notifications when entering QSOs, but each will upload as you press enter. Next time you do an All Since download, the QSOs should be included in the download. As always, QSOs are not marked as sent until you do a LoTW download.
Automatic Upload to eQSL on Entry
From the menu options click eLogs > eQSL and click Enable Real Time Upload. You won’t see any notifications when entering QSOs, but each will upload as you press enter.
Automatic Upload to Club Log on Entry (Batches of 10)
From the menu options click eLogs > Club Log and click Enable Real Time Upload. After entering 10 consecutive QSOs that haven’t been uploaded to Club Log, they will be upload on the 10th as you press enter.
These enhancements apply to both Amateur Contact Log and all the latest versions of the contest software:
Rig Interface: Icom2
Up until now, Icom 7610 users had to first enable their echo option in their rigs to interface with my software. With the Icom2 selection, that should no longer be necessary. Icom2 should work with all Icoms. Don’t forget to change the rig ID in the string for your specific Icom (details here: http://www.n3fjp.com/help/righelp.html)
Rig Interface: Yaesu 891
Until now, Yaesu 891 users had to select the Yaesu 991 option for their 891s. Their is now a 891 specific selection.
Sending rig commands with PH and CW F keys
I have added the ability to play saved voice recordings and CW strings stored in your rig (for rigs equipped with this feature). To send a command instead of playing a wave file (or CW string), precede the command with RI:. For example, when placed in an F key string, the following will trigger the Icom 7300 internally recorded messages: (you must have rig interface enabled and be connected by a com port).
Stop xmit RI:FEFE94E0280000FD
Play mem 1 RI:FEFE94E0280001FD
Play mem 2 RI:FEFE94E0280002FD (and so on…)
Of course, users of other Icom rigs will replace the 94 with the rig ID for their rig and users of other rig manufacturers will use different commands entirely. Consult your rig’s manual to see if your rig supports this feature and find the appropriate commands.
AC Log must be in PH/SSB mode to send the command associated with the F key on the phone set up form. AC Log must be in CW to send the command on the CW set up form.
And finally, one last contest software specific upgrade:
New Score Distributor Default
I modified the online score upload feature to default to the new score distributor created by Bruce, WA7BNM, which feeds both major real time scoreboards. Even if you are just a casual contestor, please be sure to enable the upload!
To Upgrade Amateur Contact Log:
You’ll find AC Log 6.2 here:

To Upgrade the Contest Software:
You’ll find the download link for each program near the top of their respective web pages. Just be sure to first uninstall the previous version as detailed here:
http://www.n3fjp.com/upgradestepscontest.html
As always, upgrades are free to registered users!
Three Other Quick Notes…
– More folks are discovering FT8 every day, many of which are running an old version of their TQSL software, which returns a mode error when they try to upload to LoTW. Just upgrade to ARRL’s latest TQSL software to correct that error.
– To add Republic of Kosovo to your country list, just click File > Download Country Files from AD1C.
– I’ve updated Kentucky In State & Out of State 1.8 to reflect the minor rule changes (power multiplier, bonus station points, and 2M) in place for this year’s contest.
Enjoy!”
