Hello all! K5CLC here to share a really crazy and extreme field test I did on my year old Baofeng UV5R, to test its merit under the most extreme conditions, proving it is not just a toy but a dual band radio HT worth every penny! (Even though they are the cheapest radios around.) Some have said ‘You get what you pay for’ meaning if it’s cheap it must be worthless. But it’s been my experience that this little rig has stood up to daily punishment for well over a year, been tossed into a bag and used in the mountains in Colorado, and out in the woods of East Texas.
