The contest takes place on the second full weekend of June each year.

CONTEST PERIODS:

Three (3) separate periods:
0000 – 0759 UTC Saturday.
1600 – 2359 UTC Saturday.
0800 – 1559 UTC Sunday.
1. AIM:

Work DX, work long distance, work continents.
2. BANDS:

The 3.5, 7, 14, 21 and 28 MHz bands may be used, observing established band
plans. The international beacon frequency 14.100 MHz +/-500 Hz must be kept
clear of contest transmissions.
3. MODE:

RTTY (45.45 Baudot) only.
4. GENERAL for all categories:

(a) A station may only be worked once per band, but may be worked on other
bands for QSO points and multipliers.

(b) All entrants must not exceed 1500 watts total output power, or the maximum
output power of their license class or country, whichever is less, on any band.

(c) All operation must take place from one operating site. All antennas must be
physically connected by wire to the transmitters and receivers used by the entrant.

(d) No unattended operation or contacts through gateways or digi-peaters permitted.

(e) Only one transmitted signal is permitted at any time.

(f) The use of spotting nets is permitted in all categories. However, self-
spotting or asking other stations to spot you is not allowed.

(g) ANY use of an non-amateur means including, but not limited to, telephones,
e-mail, Internet, Instant Messenger, chat rooms, VoIP, Twitter, SMS or the use
of Packet to solicit, arrange, or confirm any contacts during or after the
contest is not permitted.
5. CATEGORIES:

Only All-band categories exist.

A1 – SINGLE OPERATOR (SINGLE-OP)
One person (the operator) performs all operating and logging functions.
May operate the full length of the contest. Only one radio (transceiver
or RX/TX combination) must be used (SO1R)! A maximum of six (6) band
changes per clockhour (minutes 00 to 59) are allowed in this category.
In case of violations of this rule the log will be scored in category
A3 – Single Op Unlimited.
Example: 1200 14080 QSO
1201 21080 QSO -> 1st band change
1203 14080 QSO -> 2nd band change
1211 28080 QSO -> 3rd band change

A2 – SINGLE OPERATOR 6 hours (SINGLE-OP 6-HOURS)
One person (the operator) performs all operating and logging functions.
May operate up to max. 6 hours. Off-times (breaks) must be greater than
60 minutes.
Counting of operating time: Counting starts with first QSO in the log and
stops at max. operating time (6 hours). Breaks of more than 60 minutes do
not count for OP time. However, participants may operate more than 6 hours.
Only one radio (transceiver or RX/TX combination) must be used (SO1R)!
A maximum of six (6) band changes per clockhour (minutes 00 to 59) are
allowed in this category – see example above. In case of violations of this
rule the log will be scored in category A3 – Single Op Unlimited.

A3 – SINGLE OPERATOR UNLIMITED (SOU)
One person (the operator) performs all operating and logging functions.
May operate the full length of the contest. No restrictions exist for the
number of radios used and number of band changes.
General rule 4e is not applicable.

B – Multi OPERATOR SINGLE STATION (MULTI-OP)
Only one transceiver may be used.
May operate the full length of the contest.

C – SHORT WAVE LISTENERS (SWL).
6. CONTEST EXCHANGE:

RST, CQ Zone and time in four-figure UTC (hhmm).
Example: 599 14 0815

Stations that do not send the complete contest exchange may be worked and
logged for QSO point and multiplier credit.
7. SCORING:

A) QSO-POINTS:

For each completed QSO use the “Exchange Points Table” to obtain the QSO
points. This table is available for download at www.drcg.de.

B) MULTIPLIERS:

(a) All DXCC countries and all JA, W, VE and VK call areas (W1, W7, VK2, ..)
count as multipliers on each band. Except JA, W, VE and VK main land do not
count as multipliers.
NOTE: Stations operating from call areas other than indicated by their call
must use ‘/x’ with ‘x’ giving their actual call area i.e. K5DJ/1.

(b) Each Continent counts once only to a maximum of 6 Continent Multipliers.

C) SCORE: Total QSO-Points  x  Total DXCC-Mults  x  Total Continent-Mults

Note: Claimed scores are not required as part of the log. Your final score
will be calculated automatically by log checking.
8. LOGS:

(a) All QSOs made during the contest must be included in the log, also if
participating in the SINGLE-OP 6-HOURS class, but working more than the
allowed time in the contest. In this case all QSOs in excess of the allowed
operating time do not count towards your score, and will be used as
a CHECKLOG.

(b) Only CABRILLO Logs will be accepted.
- All times must be in UTC;
- All logs must be submitted with the QSOs in chronological order;
- All sent and received exchanges are to be logged;
- All QSOs made during the contest must be sent in one log;
- Cabrillo templates can be found at “www.drcg.de“.

an e-mail attachment named “callsign.log”. The e-mail subject header must
include the callsign used in the contest.

(d) Submit logs to ” ldc@drcg.de“.

(e) Any log with missing/wrong information may be treated as checklog.

(f) Logs where more than 15 % of the claimed QSOs have been removed as a
result of log checking (bad QSOs) will be classified as checklogs.
9. CLOSING DATE:
Logs must be received by 1 August of the year.
Logs received after the deadline may be listed in the results but will be
ineligible for any award.
10. AWARDS:
Certificates will be awarded in each Classification to:

(b) To be listed, a minimum of 3 logs must be received from a club.
(c) Indicate your club affiliation in the Cabrillo header.
12. DISQUALIFICATION:
Violation of amateur radio regulations in the country of the contestant
or the rules of the contest, unsportsmanlike conduct, taking credit for
unverifiable QSOs or multipliers may be deemed sufficient cause for
disqualification.

We reserve the right to list multiple awards on any Certificate and/or vary
the numbers of awards given without notice. Logs become the property of

Our first M/M experience from Jumanji Contest Station (HK1R) and for all the
operators involved in this Contest
Still many things to learn and many things to improve in the station
.
15 Meters Awesome, 48 hours open as expected

We expected to make more contacts in 40, 80 and 160 but the bands was so
noisy

We have to keep working on the receiving system for the low bands (160 and 80)
Is frustrating when you know that the people out there is listening you and
you can not hear them, our apologizes to all the stations who called us on
160 and 80 and we did not hear them

See you in the CQWW SSB.

LY HamFest 2012

Every summer Lithuanian Radio Amateurs gather to take part in their traditional HAMFEST at a beautiful spot in Lithuania. Lithuanian Amateur Radio Society (LRMD) is organizing LY HAMFEST – 2012 and invites radio amateurs from all over the world to attend.

Every year we had guests not only from the neighbouring countries, but also from the countries far away. This provides excellent opportunity to meet over 300 LY amateurs as well as other visitors. The LY HAMFEST – 2012 main organizers are radio amateurs from the Kedainiai district.

The event will take place July 27-29, 2012. The official opening ceremony will take place on Saturday at 12 noon, but as always, we will start gathering on Friday. The Closing ceremony is on Sunday at noon but this does not mean that the party is over yet.
Location: Surviliskis village, district of Kedainiai.  More information at http://lrmd.lt/saskrydis_en.htm

Digifest 2012

Digifest 2012

The annual ‘Digifest‘ will be held as usual on the 1st full weekend of June (2012 dates are June 2nd and 3rd). This is going to be Digifest’s 5th year, and its popularity is growing with last year’s received LOGs number of more than 200.

The peculiarity of this Contest is the great variety of different categories of the participants in 5 digital modes: RTTY 75, BPSK 63, MFSK 16, HELLSCHREIBER, OLIVIA and the most fair points calculation based on the distance between the stations.

The Contest consists of 3 convenient periods (8 hours each) during the weekend. To add more adrenalin into this competition a special feature will be offered to those who like competing in real time online results will be presented on a server. And, of course, a lot of real nice prizes, mostly RigExpert AA-230 and AA-30 Antenna Analyzers and RigExpert USB Interfaces. All prizes sponsored by RigExpert Ukraine Ltd.

Since the number of the participants is relatively small and the most populated competing area is Europe, the “far away” stations from NA, SA, Africa, Asia and Australia are at great advantage. From the last year’s experience those stations were the most prize winners. Considering this and also to support growing participation from Europe, the sponsors “double” the prizes i.e. separate main prizes are now available both for Europe and for the “rest of the World”.

But wait, that’s not all! For those of you who won’t be able to win “main prize” in respected category, there will be a lot of small gifts, like T-shirts and paper awards. All the prizes will be mailed to participant’s home addresses.

The results are usually available just 2 weeks after the end of the Contest, So, let’s just meet on the 1st weekend of June and have fun! Complete rules can be found at:
